Is My Authorized User Card Stopping Me from Increasing My Credit Limit?
Hello,
I am an authorized user on my mother's Southwest card, about 3,000 of a 23,000 credit limit is used every month. For my own card, Chase Freedom Unlimited, I use about 400 out of 1,100 credit limit.
I am a college student and was recently denied a credit increase. I know my income is around 10-15k, but I was wondering if it is because of the total balances on these two cards (around 3.5k) that is causing the high Debt to Income Ratio (reason why I was denied).
Please let me know in the comments! I am still learning about finances and credit cards so any advice would be much appreciated!
