New or old?

Hi! I like Panasonic MD players. The final models were supposed to be the pinnacle of technology—slim, sleek, and high-tech. Inside, everything is simplified with a tiny circuit board and a lightweight mechanism.

But what did we actually get? The weight is the same as the pre-2001 models. As for reliability, I have just as many 'dead' units from the new lineup as I do from the old ones; the problem is always the same - a dead laser. They lack physical track control buttons, and most importantly, they use a 2.5mm jack! That absolutely drives me crazy. An adapter saves the day, but it doesn't look great.

Regardless, the SJ-MJ19 and SJ-MJ100 remain some of my favorite models. Lots of metal, simple design.

Two custom Panasonic sj-mj90 with 70s vibe

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share two new custom builds I’ve just finished. Interestingly, their aesthetic was a "happy accident." While painting, a random splash of color gave me a strong 70s vibe, so I decided to lean into it. I added bold lettering in the center and designed matching slipcovers for the boxes.

Project Details:

Base Model: Panasonic SJ-MJ90. I chose this model for its durability and straightforward mechanics.

Condition: Fully tested and 100% functional. Every feature works perfectly.

Modifications: Features a custom "window mod" so you can see the disc spinning inside.

What’s Included:

The custom player itself.

A handmade pouch crafted from high-quality, thick premium leather.

A recorded MiniDisc with a custom sticker, featuring a curated 70s playlist (it looks stunning through the window mod).

A custom-themed box with Panasonic artwork.

Optional Extras:

I have a very limited supply of remote controls and external battery sidecars. I can include them for an additional $50 for those who truly need them. Personally, I think the player looks cleaner and more ergonomic without the remote, but the choice is yours.

Pricing & Shipping:

Price: $250 per unit.

Shipping: $20 to the USA / $30 to Europe. (Shipping from Indonesia is a bit pricey, but I ensure everything is packed securely).

Text me DM if you want buy

My Guarantee: I stand by my work and stay in touch with all my customers. If any issues arise, I’m always available to help with repairs or discuss a return.

I’ve also linked a YouTube video below so you can see them in action. Please excuse my English in the video, I hope everything is clear!

I'd love to hear your feedback. What do you think of this modification? Does the 70s style suit the MiniDisc format, or is it too much of a contrast?

Costom design MD disc's

Hello everyone! I’ve put together a small collection. What do you think of the design? The set includes a cover with a tracklist, a sticker for the disc itself, a sticker for the shutter, as well as an artbook and an acrylic case. By the way, this case stands up beautifully like a display piece, and the tracklist is very easy to read on it 😁 perfect for window mod!

I made this custom player. I used a Panasonic in perfect working condition as the base. I painted the body, did a window mod, made a premium leather case with a strap, and packed everything into a sturdy box.

I love old and worn-out things and wanted to push that feeling to the limit with this mod. It resulted in this disgusting yet captivating effect.

I also recorded the client's favorite album as a bonus :)

Hello everyone! I want to share my experience in MD labeling. I’ve tried many options—from the simplest ones, like hand-written stickers, to UV printing. But we all love MDs for their aesthetics, and I think I’ve found the perfect version (to my taste).

For me, the ideal disc recipe currently looks like this:

1. Transparent acrylic case.

2.The main cover, which includes the title on the spine and a tracklist inside.

3. sticker on the disc itself (yes, this makes re-recording impossible, but it looks very cool, especially if you have a player with a window mod).

4. sticker on the metal slider with the album title.

5. small, 2-page artbook.

I’m absolutely crazy about this look because I joined this hobby for the aesthetics. If you like my work, I can create a similar set for you.

I use only transparent Sony Neige discs, which are pre-owned but in good condition. The cases are brand new. For printing, I use a photo printer and high-quality paper. I make all my home recordings on a Sony MDS-S500 Type-S.

Prices:

Minimum order of 4 discs: $25 per piece.

Orders of 8+ discs: $20 per piece.

I can also offer a special price for orders over 16 discs.

Shipping is not included in the price (usually $20–$30).
