which hobby actually helped your mental health more than expected

i've tried the obvious ones. yoga didnt take, journaling lasts about three weeks before i drop it, meditation apps just made me anxious about not meditating consistently.

so im curious what randomly worked for people. like you picked something up thinking itd be fun and only later noticed you felt calmer or were sleeping better.

prefer to hear about quiet things you can do alone, but if joining something is what changed it for you, also interested
