Hi! Long story short, I’m a middle aged human rebuilding my life after some big changes, and looking for a radical career change. Current gig is *extremely* emotionally draining. I applied for a ticketing/in-station CSR role on something of a whim and have been offered an interview. I have ridden Amtrak a few times (and like the train!) and have extensive customer service experience but realized I have zero concept of what the culture/experience of working for a company like Amtrak would be. I’ve seen a few discussions of this topic here, but most seem to be centered on on-the rails positions, which does not appeal to me at this time. Any current/former non-traveling employees able to offer insight? I’m not quite sure what specific questions I even have, just a vague understanding that this is an entire world that I have no real understanding of, so any insights or thoughts about the work, culture, hiring process, whatever you would be willing to share would be very welcome! Appreciate any insights
