94k WFH or 120k in office?
So I currently work from home and make roughly 94k. The company has good benefits and the work life balance is very nice. The big negative here is there is absolutely no room for promotion unless I move across the country to the home office which is not happening.
My previous employer contacted me and is offering me an improved position. I generally enjoyed my time there last time and it has significantly more opportunities to grow while also having great benefits. I can probably negotiate my salary to around 120k based on the range they listed and an 8-16% bonus (based on company profit). Big negative here is it's in office full time with a 1 hour commute one way.
Is it worth giving up my lifestyle for 26k more per year and vastly improved odds of promotions down the line?
