I'm rolling the screen to a frame with spline. Before starting this, I was concerned I could not get the screens tight, but I found out on my first attempt yesterday how wrong I was. I did top, bottom, side, side the way the manufacture of the aluminum channel I'm using recommends. The top wasn't an issue. When I did the bottom, I didn't even "pull" on the screen, just held it lightly so it was straight. Nope, way too tight once the spline was fully seated. Literally bending the channel inward. The sides were worse, the screen was so tight by the second side it tore down the middle.

So, looking for your best tips for getting just a little bit of slack in the screen so it's not too tight.
