Would it be professionally appropriate to reconnect with a former manager after an unclear contract ending, especially when recruiters still contact me about roles there?

A while back I got ousted from a job by a manager. I was a contractor who was offered a Full Time position by a manager that then left because his father was sick. The temporary manager had received feedback from the clients that they wanted a new type of reporting, but she only made a passing comment to me “are you sure they want Power BI Reports?” I responded “If they wanted something else, they would tell me”. A few weeks later I was removed from the team (team members met with the temporary manager in question). The temporary manager made an offhand comment “you know as a contractor they can’t give you feedback directly, right?” (knowing full well based on the way I was hired that i didn’t know this, in fact she counted on it). This was years ago, but that business is hiring multiple contract roles, and I am sought out by the headhunters for these roles, but never get a call back. The temporary manager is still there, and is an actual manager now. Should I reach out to her on Linkedin and ask her about this? How should I do so?
