...Why do the boys have such a hard time doing anything?
Context: I'm a senior music education major subbing before I start to student teach and I just had the worst class of my life today. But walking away from that situation, I am absolutely fascinated by the inability of the boys in that class to get anything worthwhile done. The plan was to read a section in a textbook and answer 4 questions and they literally could not do it. I regretfully didn't engage with the girls in that class very much but...I didn't need to. They buckled down and did their work just fine.
They just like...couldn't do anything. What's wrong with them. Like, school is not that hard. It just isn't.
EDIT: just to be clear, I’m reacting mostly to their commitment towards gaining negative attention. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to be contributing members of school society… A lot of their behaviors are **causing** what will eventually become isolation… Very antisocial behaviors and I don’t understand why they would choose to live like that….
