Anyone else find white noise too aggressive at night?
I kept seeing white noise recommended everywhere for sleep and every time I tried it, it felt like sticking my head inside an air conditioning unit. Too sharp. Too present.
Tried rain sounds for a while. They worked until they didn't — my brain started "listening" to them instead of tuning out.
Ended up landing on brown noise almost by accident. It's warmer, lower. Easier to ignore, which is kind of the point.
The weird thing that works for me now is brown noise with very faint space ambience underneath. Nothing melodic. No rhythm. Just texture. I fall asleep before I even notice it.
Curious if anyone else has gone down this rabbit hole or if I'm just weird.
