I don't know what to call this trope, but I recently read "Outlaw's Promise" by Helena Newbury and it had this dynamic. The FMC saves the MMC when she's a kid and he's like 16 and she calls him years later when she's in trouble, and they meet again. I know I've read a story like this at least once before, but I'm looking for others.

I would prefer contemporary, not historical or romantasy, but I'm open to all suggestions. TIA!
