This is my 1978 GMC squarebody. I bought it when I was 19 and have been daily driving it ever since.
Over the years, I’ve:
saved up for the first body job
learned how to work on it myself
rebuilt and upgraded it multiple times
As it sits now:
355 small block
4-barrel Holley (600 Street Warrior)
700R4 transmission
4/6" drop kit from Belltech
At this point, almost everything has been replaced or touched—body panels, parts, the works. Still running the original frame, rear end (for now), and rad support.
This truck has been with me through everything—jobs, long drives, even university.
Now it’s become the center of the platform I’ve built around it.
Picked up the cap for $75 and love the look.
Very old man, like me.
