Hi, everyone. I have applied for medical aid through my new employer, and I would be on the Discovery Keycare Plus plan.

Just curious if anyone on this plan has successfully received a cochlear implant for deafness. I have been deaf in one ear since birth (I was diagnosed by an audiologist when I was a child). I haven't ever used hearing aids as I was told at the time that there wasn't anything they could do for me back then.

I'd also really appreciate hearing about the experiences of other deaf and hearing impaired folks in SA.
