The Magus has long since been on my tbr list and I'm finally getting around to it but I'm having some trouble deciding which version to read. One of the things that drew me to The Magus is it was described as somewhat eerie, surreal, or supernatural which some sources say is lessened in the revised, as well as having a less ambiguous ending, but Fowles himself obviously prefers the revised. Can anyone who's read either or both versions comment on their experience? If you've read the revised could you maybe say how prevalent the eerie/surreal tone is?
