I just replaced the fill valve on my toilet and when I went to buy the new one the hardware store owner said, “they all used to be made of brass and never needed replacing.” I’m always trying to have less plastic in my life and am wondering if there are still places to get brass fill valves and other such household hardware that is now almost always plastic?

Can you get a brass fill valve for a home toilet? If so where?
