Why has Reddit become a trojan horse for fake 'problems'?

I'm sure you've all seen the script now...

  1. 'How do you do this' or 'How are others managing...'

  2. A few comments get thrown in

  3. Surprise surprise, either that same person or another account happens to have a magical solution (usually a vibe coded product) to handle this

This is annoying!

As someone that likes to see how other people are genuinely working / struggling on things - these trojan horses sadly muddy the water. You're never sure if these problems are genuine or a stepping stone into their big product reveal.

I thought cold-calling was dead. But, this founder of a legal firm (EUDAN) said on a recent podcast he got 90% of his customer via cold out reaches. So my questions are:

  1. What is the best strategy of doing this?

  2. How do you go about sourcing who you think might be a worthwhile person of interest?

  3. Any specific techniques to cover in that reach out? (keep it brief, do research on them, etc)
