I wanted to share my experience with Elite Wheels MTB rims, especially regarding their warranty and crash replacement policy.

On paper, they advertise a 1000-day warranty and a crash replacement program, which sounds reassuring. However, my real-world experience has been quite different.

I used my wheels only 12 times (~700 km), mostly on non-technical gravel roads. During one of these rides, the rear rim developed a crack. There was no noticeable impact that would reasonably explain this type of failure.

The crack is located near the spoke hole area, which is a structurally sensitive zone. Given the limited usage and riding conditions, the damage seems disproportionate.

I contacted Elite Wheels support and provided detailed photos. The claim was denied, and the cause was attributed to impact. I understand that impacts can happen, although I don’t believe that was the case, there was no noticeable impact and I didn’t hear any noise at the moment.

I was open to a fair crash replacement solution, but the “discount” offered was essentially in line with regular retail pricing. In practice, it didn’t feel like any real support after a failure.

Another frustrating aspect was the communication. Initially, they were responsive, but over time the replies became slower and less consistent. I’m still waiting for a response to my last email.

Interestingly, I came across a comment here on Reddit that perfectly describes my experience:

That’s exactly how it felt.

I wanted to share this so others can factor real-world support into their decision, not just advertised policies.
