Wanted to mention something I saw on FB Marketplace

It's a rather sad situation. Someone accidentally donated her childhood My Twinn doll to Goodwill and she's still looking for her because she was really important to her. Lots of emotional stuff.

I chatted with her about it a little and I can't stop thinking about it, so I thought I'd spread the word a bit.

It appears she doesn't have any pictures of her doll, unfortunately. She has a picture of one that she thought looks a lot like her. According to her post, the doll most resembles a fair skinned Kate with long wavy/curly dark blonde hair with bangs. She had blue eyes. The most distinctive characteristic would be a mole or large freckle on her neck.

I didn't get into the particulars of face sculpts with her, so I don't know if it's _actually_ a Kate or just looks similar to a Kate, so keep that in mind. I also don't know what year the doll was.

I did offer to give her a customized replacement, if I had a face that she thought worked, but she declined. I understand that, because even if I made it look the same, it wouldn't be the same. I feel very sad for her and I hope she somehow finds her doll.

Keep your eyes out, eh?

234, 780

That's how many unique Twinns could have been made in the year 2000 based on the eye, hair, and skin color options in the 2000 catalog, the number of face sculpts that existed then minus prototypes, and two genders.

Of course, the overall number would be higher if we included Cai who came out later, the prototypes, and any different color choices available in different years. This doesn't account for things like hair style, either.

I think I need more shelves.

I need advice/opinions on this girl

She's beautiful, but she has some issues. She doesn't match her body, at all. She doesn't seem to match any body, for that matter. I tried to show the color difference, but it's even more pronounced in person. Her limbs are rather pale.

I don't know what skin tone she's intended to be. Maybe olive with a pigment mixture error? She's a Virginia lady, and the olive on the color charts from then looks a little amber but not this amber. Last picture shows her with a couple light brown/olive girls from different eras.

So, I've considered a couple options.

I could mix some paint to match her head and paint her arms and legs. She'd probably look perfectly natural and lovely if she matched herself.

Or, I could try to match a Virginia era light brown or olive, and paint both her head and limbs.

Either way, her eyes will stay blue because they're gorgeous. I might give her a darker hair color though.

Any feedback would be appreciated

How are they all so adorable, guys??

I mean, I wasn't even trying to take good pictures, I'm just debating wig choices and poor Genevieve (Berkley) doesn't even have all her eyelashes, but look at them!!?? ❤️
