UK & Paris Trip: Giffgaff eSIM Worked Surprisingly Well

Just got back from a trip around the UK and Paris and thought I’d mention something that actually worked out really well for us. Before we landed at Heathrow, we signed up for eSIMs through giffgaff.com and honestly it was way easier than I expected.

We each did the £10 pay as you go eSIM plan, which worked out to around $13 USD. It included unlimited calls and texts in the UK plus 15GB of 5G data. It also came with 5GB of roaming data in Europe, which was perfect for the couple of days we spent in Paris. That 5GB of roaming data was part of thre 15GB.

They do have cheaper and more expensive plans too, but from what I could tell, the main difference is basically how much data you get and I thought for $13 it was a good price.

I believe giffgaff is part of O2, which is one of the biggest mobile networks in the UK, so maybe that explains why coverage was so good. We used it in London, Bath, Edinburgh, Belfast and Paris and pretty much always had signal and decent speeds.

Only slight downside was no WiFi calling, but other than that I really couldn’t complain. Setup was simple and having data working the second we landed made life a lot easier when trying to use google maps.

If anyone’s heading to the UK soon and looking at eSIM options, it’s definitely worth checking out.

I know this is the Zepbound forum, but I’m posting here because I know a lot of people were affected by the CVS Caremark coverage changes last year and may now be in a similar situation and probably still in this group like I am.

I was wondering if anyone is currently going through a prior authorization renewal with CVS Caremark for Mounjaro for weight loss.

I had been on Zepbound for over a year until Caremark stopped covering it in July 2025, like they did for a lot of people, and I was then forced onto Wegovy, which unfortunately did not work well for me. After that, I managed to get a PA approved for Mounjaro, but that authorization is due to expire this month.

At the moment, CallOnDoc is telling me that my plan does not cover Mounjaro for weight loss, while Caremark is saying it can still be covered with a PA renewal.

I know coverage varies from plan to plan, but I was wondering if anyone else is currently going through a similar renewal process with Caremark and might have any advice or insight on how it went for them.

Thanks.
