LF ao3 fic that deals with the effects of Sasuke's "fans"
I was reading through the Trust Your Nose series and there was a Sasuke & Asuma exchange where he was trying to manipulate his reputation, but also suddenly realizing how screwed up his "fan club" was as both a concept and as a thing that every adult around him allowed, if not encouraged. He has a few more moments of being drastically effected by being treated as a piece of meat, expected to breed regardless of his wishes, and it hit me that I don't usually see any of that addressed (save for Orochimaru being a creeper, which does not scratch the itch). A slaughter orphan is being stalked and harassed every day of his life by adults and children, growing up with the expectation that he'll "rebuild the clan" for the good of the village. That's whack, I want to see the child cry. :3
I don't really have much of a genre preference, but I do tend towards longer stories. Short fics that only focus on the concept are fine by me, but if anyone has an epic in mind that works it into long-term character growth that would be aces. Obliterate canon world building as needed, I have several authors who did great things with the building blocks Kishimoto provided, so staying true-ish to canon is pretty low-priority. Honestly, I won't even mind if Team 7 gets broken up; inter-team exchange fics (sort of TYN) or new teams from the beginning (like Team Psych) can be fascinating.
(The TYN series is technically more focused on Naruto, but Sasuke has some great growth if youre a fan of his that hasnt gone down the 'Naruto raised by his accidental summons' route of finding new works. Team Psych has no Sasuke, but Naruto doing infiltration/espionage work like his skillset deserves is lovely and Shilamaru is far kinder as a third than Sasuke.)
