Any recommendations for restoring a split record cover?

If you collect records you know that splitting like this is a common occurrence when they aren’t packed properly. Is there any way to restore it? I was thinking that perhaps a bit of glue could be used to seal it and then go over it with a pen. Any ideas? I don’t need it to be perfect and more want to do it just to try something.

32X is making a hissing noise. Anyone have any ideas on what it is or how to fix it?

Decided to plug in my 32X (it's been probably 20 years). It works, but it makes a high pitched hissing noise - almost like the same sound a CD makes when it first starts spinning. I'm not sure what's going on. I saw a video where a guy tried swapping out capacitors for maybe a similar issue, but that didn't seem to work for him. My power supplies are fine and I've tested them. I'm running it through a model 2 Genesis if that matters. Cheers.
