Market research for consultancy idea

Hello! I’m doing some research because I’m exploring building a tool/service to help small businesses cut down on repetitive time-wasting tasks.

Not selling anything here — just trying to understand if this is actually worth solving.

If you are running or working in a small business:

  • What are the most annoying or time-consuming tasks you deal with day-to-day?
  • Have you tried anything to fix it?
  • Would you honestly pay to solve it?
  • If yes, roughly how much would? (one-off or monthly) Or is it more of a “yeah it’s annoying but not worth paying for” situation?
  • Would you be hesitant to hire a one-person business / solo engineer to build something like this? Why or why not?
  • Would you be open to trying a free prototype first and then paying if it actually works for you?
  • Have you tried tools like OpenClaw or similar automation tools? What was your experience?

Really appreciate the help and honesty
