Need shoe advice! My husband and I were recently at the beach. He wore water shoes (was never barefoot on the beach or in the water) but is now suffering from blisters on both feet that quickly became necrotic and has a bone infection. All of this for 3 hours on the beach!
We went to the ER the same day and has since been hospitalized for 4 days and sent home with 24 hr iv for infection. I change his bandages every day. The doctors have this in hand (I hope) , my question is about shoes!! We are scuba divers and love the beach and ocean. Does anyone have suggestions how to protect his feet when (if - may have amputation) they heal? Thanks for any advice. We’re at a loss! The nurses at his last visit didn’t have an answer and actually suggested I ask here!
