The WCW Reboot

Date: April 10, 2000

Promotion: World Championship Wrestling (WCW)

Event: WCW Monday NITRO (Episode 238)

Location: Denver, Colorado | Pepsi Center

↳ On April 10, 2000, WCW enacted a "reset" (or reboot) that vacated all championship titles, led by the return of Eric Bischoff & Vince Russo to head creative. This move launched the "New Blood vs. Millionaire's Club" storyline, aiming to pit younger talent against established stars to save plunging ratings.

Vince Russo returned for his first on-screen appearance to announce a revamp, teaming up with Bischoff, who was acting as a creative consultant.

Despite the attempt at a fresh start, the ratings did not improve significantly, with the April 10th Nitro scoring a 3.1 compared to Raw's 7.4. This period was widely considered a last-ditch effort to compete with the WWF, which ultimately failed to stop the company's downward momentum. WCW would be purchased by WWF owner Vince McMahon less than a year later.

The Ultimate Speech

“Every Man's Heart One Day Beats Its Final Beat. His Lungs Breathe Their Final Breath”

On April 7, 2014, The Ultimate Warrior made his first Monday Night Raw appearance in nearly 18 years after an acrimonious separation in 1996.

On the preceding nights in New Orleans, he had been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame & appeared at WrestleMania XXX.

This would also unfortunately be his final public appearance as less than 24 hours later, James Brian Hellwig, who in 1993 legally changed his name to the mononym "Warrior" died on April 8, 2014, at the age of 54 in Scottsdale, Arizona after suffering a heart attack.

“No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own. Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe a final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized. By the story tellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make the running the man did live forever. You, you, you, you, you, you are the legend markers of Ultimate Warrior. In the back I see many potential legends. Some of them with warrior spirits. And you will do the same for them. You will decide if they lived with the passion and intensity. So much so that you will tell your stories and you will make them legends, as well. Ultimate. You are the Ultimate Warrior fans. And the spirit of the Ultimate Warrior will run forever!”

CM Punk vs. The Undertaker

Date: April 7, 2013

Promotion: World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)

Match Stipulation / Type: Singles Match

Event: WrestleMania 29 (WrestleMania NY/NJ)

Location: East Rutherford, New Jersey | MetLife Stadium

↳ This was a highly technical match that many considered the best of that show. The feud is remembered for Punk's incredible heel work which was centered on Punk disrespecting the memory of Paul Bearer to provoke The Undertaker. Punk stole Undertaker’s iconic urn, mocked his 20-0 streak, and used the urn's ashes against him, turning the feud into a deeply personal battle of revenge.

Event: WrestleMania 25 (The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania)

Location: Houston, Texas | Reliant Stadium

↳ Considered by many wrestling fans the greatest match in WrestleMania history, some fans would argue that it is the greatest match in WWE history.
