G700 Experience
Here is my 2 cents after 1,500 km with the Jetour G700 (Flagship).
First and foremost, I am still very angry at Jetour for not providing a 5-seater in the Flagship trim, or for giving way less equipment in the 5-seater trim, especially fewer airbags.
Okay, I’m calm!
Jokes aside, I enjoy the car, especially its maneuverability considering its size. OMG! Anyone who knows the Mazaya Business Avenue parking lot will understand me better.
The hardware-to-price ratio is top-level when compared with others.
It looks muscular, yet it is very smooth to drive. The cabin has a pretty driver-friendly setup.
Quality? That is questionable, as with every car. We will know more after a few years.
Oh I just remember now! Why is there no folding table or extending leg support on the middle-left seat? There can be more than one boss on some trips.
I checked the central screen, and it felt very solid. The plastic feeling of the speaker covers kills the mood a bit, but it is absolutely not a dealbreaker.
I didn’t have a chance to test the rear screen on a bumpy road, so no comment on that.
Passengers gave good feedback about the comfort of the middle seats.
Those rear seats still reduce valuable loading space, even though they are foldable.
There are some weird things I hope will be fixed in software updates:
-The first point will be the 130 km/h ACC limitation. It should be at least 145.
-Android Auto goes offline when you use the indicator.
-The media fast-forward/reverse button sometimes works and sometimes does not.
-Pressing the volume control wheel mutes the media but does not unmute it (It has only unmuted twice so far)
-Android Auto connection issues.
-I still could not find a way to reset the “since reset” mileage.
-The trip computer is poor. I like data so I can evaluate things.
-The lady who shouts like crazy when you want to speed up while ACC or LCC is on.
I would like to hear from other owners whether they hear a weird diesel-like noise from the engine around 1,500–1,600 rpm. It is very annoying.
Also I would like to hear dune bashing experiences.
I would be happy with:
-More customization options for such a good dashboard or central screen.
-Slightly better lateral support on the seats, like in a sports car.
-Less dramatic proximity sensor noise (Come on! I still have 50 cm to the wall!)
I will add more when I remember.
Disclaimer: My above comments come from my experience with various brands like VW, Toyota, Škoda, Maserati, Jeep, Hyundai, etc., but this is my very first SUV.
