Charles Dance Reportedly Joins The Batman: Part II as Harvey Dent’s Father

Reports suggest Matt Reeves may have finally filled the long‑vacant role in The Batman: Part II.

British veteran Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, Frankenstein) is reportedly in talks to play Harvey Dent’s father, joining Sebastian Stan (Harvey) and Scarlett Johansson (Gilda).

The role has been a revolving door of big names with Brad Pitt, Stellan Skarsgård, Robert De Niro, Viggo Mortensen and Daniel Craig all rumoured, though reporter Justin Kroll says Skarsgård was the only real offer.

The Batman: Part II is said to centre on Batman, Harvey Dent and Commissioner Gordon forming an uneasy alliance to take down a serial killer and Gotham’s entrenched mafia.

Also returning are Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Paul Dano and possibly Barry Keoghan.

Filming begins next month in London ahead of an October 1st, 2027 release.
