Built a vertical hydroponic tower for my balcony using 3D printed parts

I wanted to grow vegetables on my balcony but space is very limited, so I started experimenting with a vertical hydroponic system.

I designed and 3D printed the tower modules so they can stack on top of each other. The system uses a bucket as a water reservoir and a small aquarium pump that pushes water to the top of the tower.

From there the water flows down through all the plant cups.

Right now I'm growing tomatoes, strawberries and peppers and they seem to be doing really well.

The goal was to create something compact that can work in a small apartment balcony.

If anyone is interested in printing it, I uploaded the STL files here:

My small balcony vertical hydroponic tower – growing tomatoes and strawberries in a 3D printed system

I’ve been experimenting with a small vertical hydroponic tower that I designed and 3D printed.

The system is very simple:

• bucket reservoir

• aquarium pump pushing water to the top

• gravity feeds the plant modules

It works surprisingly well even in a small balcony space.

Currently growing tomatoes, strawberries and peppers.

I turned the design into a stackable tower so it can be expanded depending on height.

If anyone wants to print one, I uploaded the STL files here:

My 3D printed vertical hydroponic tower growing tomatoes and strawberries on a small balcony

I designed and 3D printed this vertical hydroponic tower system and started testing it on my balcony.

It uses a simple bucket reservoir with an aquarium pump that pushes water to the top of the tower. The water then flows down through all the plant modules.

Currently growing:

• Tomatoes

• Strawberries

• Peppers

The tower is made from multiple stackable modules so you can expand it depending on the height you want.

Surprisingly it works really well even in a small space.
