The Sonic RPG we almost got. According to some 1993 Electronic Gaming Monthy articles, Sega planned to take the game Popful Mail and release it as a Sonic spinoff game in the West, changing the characters and story. It was known as Sister Sonic and I assume would've had animal characters as PCs. But fans of Popful Mail wanted the original game instead, so that's what was released.
