Is Getting my Associates in Criminal Justice Worth it?
I’m currently in Illinois, and my local community college offers an accelerated one-year Criminal Justice (CJ) associate degree program. After completing it, you can enter my local police department without having to take the usual entrance exam.
I’m trying to decide if it’s worth getting this associate degree just to get my foot in the door, with the plan of later pursuing a bachelor’s degree in something like Business Management. I’ve heard that a CJ degree isn’t always very useful long-term, so I’m wondering if this is the smartest path.
