Equipment leakage current SK II device with FE (Functional earth)
I tested a Class II medical power supply with a functional earth connection and noticed that the equipment leakage current is approximately 156 µA. According to IEC 62353, the limit for Class II devices is typically 100 µA.
I measured several other power supplies of the same type and obtained similar results, all above the 100 µA limit.
According to the manufacturer, only the earth leakage current is relevant for this device and it should remain below 1000 µA.
Is there an exception for earth leakage current measurements when a Class II device has a functional earth connection? Or does this mean that the device cannot be tested strictly according to IEC 62353?
