RPI Laptop options?

We got the email from RPI mobile computing with 2 options: Lenovo Thinkpad T 16 for $2k and Lenovo Thinkpad P1 for close to $5k, $4.2 k if ordered before May 20. That’s a big difference. Will the T16 be adequate for a dual ME and physics major?

Will Bailey’s speech writing stint

I don’t understand why Toby said they would not pay Will for his speech writing skills for…a presidential inauguration. He said they’d put him up in a hotel but no pay. I get that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, but no one advertises ghost writing so the benefits to Will is limited to the chance of being picked up by the WH on a permanent basis. On principle they needed to pay him.

My first time watching I admit that I skipped through the episodes of Zoe’s kidnapping at the point where her bodyguard was killed. I hated that part. I skipped right through to the scene where they reunited. I’m on my second watch and am in season 4 at the point where they won reelection and Sam is coming to terms with the move to CA. I think the Zoe plot is coming up. Is there anything important I missed the first time around by not watching those episodes? Anything not about the kidnapping itself?

I love the scene where the president is rushing to give a speech, they’re all running up stairs, and just before getting there, as they are hightailing it, Sam tells the President, joy cometh in the morning sir. And the president gets to the podium and says … ‘joy cometh in the morning, the scripture tells us’. And launches into his riveting speech. So well coordinated because Sam and Jed know each other’s thought processes. The one line was sufficient to anchor a great speech. Sam’s brilliance and humility in tossing it to his boss just when he needed it. The president’s competence in knowing exactly where to place it for maximum effect. No extra words needed. I love it so much!

I watched these for the 2nd time last night. I never really noticed how clueless and almost disdainful Toby and Josh were about middle America. All that passion was about fighting to win and sometimes for a cause in the abstract, but it wasn’t grounded in reality. Also, how was Donna not given a professional role earlier on the series, why wait till the end in S7. She was so competent.
