Im suprised we havent gotten a "10/22 mkII" that just has a completely redesigned magazine.

I love my 10/22 and have put thousands of rounds through it. But from day 1 to my last range session one thing has remained the same. The mags suck. Not that theyre unreliable, but they just suck to use. Theyre not fun to load, the larger capacity mags arent reliable, and the mag insert/release system is just jank. Why the hell there hasn't been a button release added at some point only god knows. And holy shit man, they just chew up your thumbs without a speed loader of some sort.

Dont get me wrong, the gun works great. Ill spend 6 hours at a range with only my 22 just plinking all day. It's just the magazines as a whole are the biggest downside to the 10/22 platform. I dont get why ruger never made a gen 2 of sorts that maybe used either single stack mk4 mags, or a different design all together. I'd kill to have mags with the little pull tabs to assist loading. Hell I'd even take a tube magazine like a Henry. Like the reciever gate loading. That would be sick.
