Is timelines worth it strictly for the extra ships, sectors and faction?

I've held off buying it because of the horrid reviews. But it's on sale for $10 and the final dlc i need for the game. honestly I'm too not interested in it's campaign, only in all the extra ships, the new faction and the 7 extra sectors it adds. Main reason I'm thinking about it is so i can use the "Add more sectors" mod from thr workshop that adds 66 new sectors, but Timelines is required for it.

I'm still new to the game. Only about 30 hours in. Playing the Terran campaign and just taking my time. Just got to where I'm getting the Grand Exchange sector close to unlocking the Teleportation research.. My only source of income right now is mineral and gas miners in Asteroid Belt and Saturn 2 in the Terran sectors. I have 6 M Mineral miners and 2 M Gas Miners set up on Asteroid Belt, with the maximum mining and sell distance set to 8 sectors away.

How many miners can I comfortably set on the Belt before I start to see issues with resources not respawning fast enough?

After I get teleportation researched I'm going to set up an Energy facility on Mercury for extra income. But that's as far ahead as I've planned. Other than that I'm working on getting a few M Corvette fighters set up to patrol around the Asteroid Belt and Grand Exchange and trying to get the factions around Grand exchange to friendly reputation.

Ok my question about mods or if a mod is even required for this...How do I set up my fighters to auto patrol MULTIPLE sectors? Lets say i want to have a fleet of 3 Corvettes patrol Grand Exchange and 3 or 4 surrounding sectors but nothing else? I know how to set them up to patrol 1 sector, but I want them to be able to auto jump between multiple sectors in a loop but not stray too far from Grand Exchange.

Thanks everyone.
