Longer walks and more park visits for everyone!

They love the snow of course, but it's definitely not as nice for the walker.

Feedback on my very first colony and first DLC to get?

Strictly speaking I started 4 games before this after doing the tutorial. Went in otherwise blind with no-reloads and died to all sorts of funny and unexpected stuff. This time around I watched a few tips guides on YouTube and then decided to do a bit of save-scumming if I ran into issues to get further.

Working on the spaceship and attacks are getting a bit more serious. Figured out a lot of stuff thanks to more guides and the wiki but clearly there is so much to learn.

Short list of stuff I know I need to do differently next time:

  • Tables in bedrooms is bad.
  • Layout mistakes result in mess EVERYWHERE. Do people usually do a total rebuild at some point in the early-mid-game transition?
  • Found out about drug policy rather late in this game after my 80 year old crafter was constantly passing out drunk or greening out.
  • Plan food supply better and don't let animal population get so big.
  • Wasted so much steel early on random stuff that didn't need to be built with it.

Would love suggestions and feedback for how to approach my next game once I close this out!

I have none of the DLC yet and planning to pick up at least one before my next game. Where should I start? Found varied opinions across threads/blog posts/videos.

EDIT: Forgot to ask - any recommendations for basic QOL mods I should look at?
