Pixel hardware quality is getting hard to trust (my experience)
I’ve been using Pixel phones for years, and honestly I used to love them — especially for the camera and clean Android experience.
But over time, I’ve started to notice a pattern that’s hard to ignore: hardware quality and reliability just don’t seem consistent.
On my side, I had a Pixel 7 Pro that developed a black spot on the screen after about 3 years. No drop, no visible damage — it just appeared and slowly spread. That’s not normal wear in my opinion, especially on a flagship device.
I contacted Google support and they refused to do anything because it was out of warranty. So basically: hardware failure = your problem.
Since then, I’ve seen more and more posts about:
- camera inconsistencies (focus issues, weird blur)
- charging port problems
- overheating on some models
Individually, you could say “bad luck”. But when it keeps coming up across different generations, it starts to look more like a quality control issue.
What bothers me the most is not just the defects — it’s the lack of support when something goes wrong.
At this point, I’m seriously questioning whether Pixel is still a good long-term choice. Great software, yes. But hardware + after-sales support? Not so sure anymore.
