Just got my CSCS card Green– Looking for advice on getting my first start on-site in NorthEast ?

Hi everyone, I finally got my CSCS card sorted and I'm keen to get stuck into some site work.
I'm based in Newcastle and looking to start as a laborer or trainee mate. Does anyone have recommendations for reliable local agencies that actually pay on time? Or are there any specific types of sites I should walk onto to ask for the site manager?
I’ve got my own basic PPE and I’m ready to work. Any tips for a newbie to make a good impression on day one would be massive. Thanks!

Hi all,
Recently got my CSCS card and looking at getting into decorating and general site work properly.
Been interested in home decorating/interiors for a while and trying to understand the best route into the industry in the UK.
Just wanted to ask:
Is decorating still a good trade to get into?
Better to work with a company first or go self-employed later?
What skills separate average decorators from the really good ones?
Any beginner mistakes to avoid?
Appreciate any advice from people already in the trade 👍

Just got my CSCS card looking for advice getting into site work

Just recently got my CSCS card and looking to get started on sites and build experience.
Mainly interested in labouring/plumbing and willing to put the work in and learn properly. Trying to understand the best route into steady work in the UK construction industry.
A few questions:
Best agencies/sites for finding work?
What tickets are worth getting next?
Is labouring the best way in at first?
Any advice for someone new to site work?
Appreciate any help

Newly got my CSCS card looking to get started and learn more on site

Hi everyone,
Just recently got my CSCS card and I’m looking to get into more site work and build experience. Interested in plumbing/general labouring and learning properly on the job.
I’m based in the UK and happy to start from the bottom, work hard and learn from experienced lads on site.
Would appreciate any advice on:
best places to find work
agencies worth signing up to
what extra tickets/certs are worth getting
Thank you
