Hi,

I am looking at potentially applying from another province now that we can apply for unsponsored seats.

I never took Organic Chem, because it is not a requirement for the Vet School in my province (which used to be the only one I was allowed to apply to), and it's a restricted/priority course at my uni. I have a full BSc., and two grad degrees, and I'm all graduated now... I took two general chem courses and both second and third year biochem, but I have no orgo.

I am willing to go back for a semester, but the only uni in the region (the one I went to) restricts their orgo courses - the one with no lab component is just priority access and sometimes you can get lucky and get into it after being on the waitlist, but again, no lab. The uni does not allow anyone who isn't a chem major take the version with a lab component.

There used to be a uni in my province that had an online orgo with a virtual lab component, but they no longer allow students to join it if you aren't in their own degree program.

Has anyone had this issue before and found a way to solve it or somewhere to take the course? I would consider online orgo courses from other places like the US, but I would need to enroll as a full time student for that semester. I have no idea how to fulfill this requirement.

Open to any ideas. TIA

One of my references is asking if I can provide any information on what is involved or how long the recommendation for VMCAS will take, so they can plan for it. I found the guide for writing recommendations from Liason, but it doesn't really outline how involved the process is.

I know part of it is an actual letter, which is pretty self-explanatory. is But there a way to view what the format the letter writer sees when they fill out the form portion? Or an estimate of how much/how long it typically takes. I know a Likert scale is involved, but I don't know if it's a brief few multiple choice questions plus the letter, or some long, involved questionnaire.

TIA
