Nic, Iris, and Jeremiah in a LIUSA Smirnoff ad
Olandria for 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition
A note from the editor:
“Sports Illustrated Swimsuit is no longer just a single publication. It is a movement that celebrates self-acceptance, personal evolution and the boundless definition of beauty. This year we continue to prove that empowerment is not a trend. It is our foundation.”
What an amazing showcase for her! From being a little girl in Decatur, AL who could only dream about modeling… to being one of 34 models featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. So proud of her!
Dove Men shouts out Nic and Marquee in Buzzfeed interview
Saw Nic got a shout out by the marketing director! It’s a long piece covering other topics, but she mentions Nic and Marquee as an example of a creator-led campaign.
Las Culturistas: Olandria, Rob and Maura nominated for ‘26 Culture Awards
For anyone unfamiliar, Las Culturistas is a popular comedy podcast hosted by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. The Culture Awards celebrate pop culture’s most memorable moments, and the show is really funny. Some of you may recall Ben Platt’s “Diet Pepsi” performance.
Curious if any LI folks will make an appearance.
Also, Nic’s Mamacita quote is nominated… not sure if that makes Nic a nominee though.
Edit: the awards will be broadcast on Bravo and Peacock at 9p EST on June 17th
Making sense of Iris and Hannah’s behavior toward the Casa girls
I wanted to share my two cents on this one, because in watching these two proudly state their disinterest in cultivating friendships with the Casa girls, I felt like I recognized what was happening.
It’s the middle school lunch table phenomenon. In middle school, girls get extra cliquey due to developmental insecurity and a heightened need for social belonging. Girls in this stage also try to protect and elevate their own status by rejecting members who have a lower social status, and who they believe would cause their own standing to depreciate. Hence, ‘you can’t sit with us’ behavior.
I think being thrust into the public eye, trying to build and maintain a social media following, and essentially competing over brand deals and clout, is causing some of the women to revert to middle school behavior and emotional insecurity. By befriending Casa girls, Iris and Hannah (whether they realize it or not) fear their status will depreciate in the public eye. They’ll no longer be viewed as an elevated ‘A group’ within the Love island social ecosystem, so they want to keep a tiered system in place.
If Amaya didn’t represent a certain level of status and clout (based on fame and following) I think it’s unlikely Hannah and Iris would give her the time of day. At least at this stage of their lives.
Does this resonate with anyone else?
