Not sure about Bladee
After seeing u/CapitalSphinx’s post, I decided to do some digging regarding Bladee’s liquidity.
I’ve been revisiting the transition between Okk and Mallwhore Freestyle and honestly I’m starting to have questions. At the end of Okk we hear “you said it was declined? Alright… well try my mastercard bro… I got money on my mastercard for sure.” Now initially I interpreted this as confidence. But after further analysis I’m no longer convinced. Why is he needing to verbally reassure both the cashier and himself that there are available funds on the mastercard? Wealthy individuals typically possess immediate certainty regarding account solvency. Furthermore, immediately continuing into Mallwhore Freestyle, the same shopping interaction appears to continue “actually bro excuse me, you got these in silver?”This is where things become troubling. Why silver? If Bladee was truly operating at the financial tier implied throughout the drain catalogue, surely gold or platinum variants would at minimum be explored. The request for silver specifically suggests an awareness of budgetary limitations and possible avoidance of premium inventory. Taken individually these lyrics are explainable. But when listened to consecutively, as intended in the album sequencing, it paints a concerning picture.
