Hi all, I've been playing fingerstyle guitar for about four years. Recently, I noticed that I had a strange (incorrect?) fingerpicking technique - my right hand thumb was on top of my index finger rather than in front of it.

I've been trying to change it, but it still feels unnatural. Have any others gone on similar journeys in changing technique, and have thoughts?

Interested to see how everyone's journeys started. My first album was Marquee Moon and I initially gave it a three, but bumped it up to four when I worked out my rating system.
