For context, I've got two aquariums and in one I have ember tetras. I was trying to culture copepods is a small bottle I guess and I was gonna give up on the project a few days after I started it and I moved the moss (that I had previously moved from my two aquariums) and noticed this small guy, now I have gotten insect eggs in my big aquarium before and at first glance I didn't even know if it was alive but when I nudged it with my pipet and the shit darted I confirmed it was indeed alive also resembled guppy fry which I have seen before so I searched up ember tetra fry and I definitely see a strong reassemblance

Now I wanna know whether it's an ember tetra fry because there should be more than one or if it's just some fly larve, I don't t wanna get my hopes up even if it is a baby tetra because it probably won't make it in my unprepared hands but I just wanna confirm my suspicion

So the reason I had to take out all of the fish not just her is because I was doing a complete rescape of my 19 g, I was replacing the substrate and also ended up rescaping. I took everyone out including 13 ember tetras and 9 pygmy cories, I kept them separated obviously can't chuck them into the same tub. So the rescape took the whole day also taking out the ember tetras in a 3g planted (I did not learn my lesson)

I decided to keep her in the tub with lots of plants I was planning on drying + throwing out later but kept them in the tub with her so she wouldn't feel to exposed, the tub was covered during the night and open during the day, the water level was low and she had never attempted to jump (she didn't those days either). So I kept her in there few days nothing over a week maybe 5 days, but I didn't just abandon her I took care of her in there and I was trying to make a DIY feeding cone so perfect timing because she didn't have to much to do anyways. The reason I kept her in the tub instead of immediately transferring her back is because she is pretty bossy so I wanted to give the tetras a a chance to get more comfortable (I had added her in the first day but they were all so confused and timid so I took her back out).

I tried to keep her as active as I could considering she was in a small tub probably 3-4 g, and so before I was gonna add her into the aquarium I feed her extra hoping she wouldn't try to nip at anyone, lets just say she did, was very hyper and ready to assert dominance to her fellow 3 cm tankmates. I decided to put her in a clear pencil holder of a sort in reference about 4 times the size of those Petco salt shakers that they keep their bettas, and I floated it in the tank with her in it over night and she ended up calming down and now in the morning I let her explore a bit more with some food distractions (she's very food motivated) until I was her come up all big at a poor pygmy so I put her back into the small quarantine and she was extremely hyper now she's calming down

I thought the core of this was access energy kinda like a little puppy you keep in a room all day and then let them outside with a lot of other puppies now Imagine those puppies being the size of her big toe, just joking but they are obviously noticeably smaller. So I think the main factors to why she's being so hyper is access energy, new environment and dominance issues

For the extra energy I don't know how to regulate all of it I have trained her to do some simple tricks and I've tried flaring her on multiple opportunities but she never flares more then a few seconds and then swims right away, I think most of that access energy goes towards harassing her tankmates. I've thought of getting live food or introducing baby shrimp once they start breeding in my 3g shrimp tank, I've also tried culturing brine shrimp but I just can't get them to be a live for more then a few days.

So any other ways you deal with exercising a under stimulated betta, know how someone else does it or have had a similar experience if so please feel free to share !! also feel free to call me out but not in a hateful way if your at it !
