Is this normal?
I became a front end manager back in December. It’s been pretty good, I have worked in the front for almost 3 years now so I’m pretty used to how it runs. The thing that’s really bothering me is that sometimes they just won’t schedule people in dairy/grocery at night to recieve the loads and there’s this expectation for me to take care of it. They never warn me about it, the guy always just shows up and after paging dairy/grocery multiple times I realized there’s just straight up no one there. This had happened to me four times and the other night manager has done it about 20 times, though she used to work at walmart in grocery so she has experience. I have never worked a pallet jack and even when I try I am not strong enough to help the driver remove the pallets from the truck. Not to mention, im unfortunately physically disabled anyway which is why I work the front end. I just want to know if this is normal because they never once communicated this expectation with me. My lead manager had no idea and she’s quite livid about it.
