How are you guys actually handling Arc vs Structural coordination in Revit?

I feel like most of the built-in workflows don’t really solve the real problem.

Coordination Monitor sounds good in theory, but in practice it breaks down pretty quickly mainly because architects and structural engineers don’t model things the same way.

And clash detection solving the opposite problem.

We’re trying to find elements that should match 100% (but don’t),
while clash detection is focused on elements that intersect (basically 0% clash).

So instead of helping, you still end up with:

  • Columns not aligned with the architectural model
  • Beams that don’t really match
  • Walls slightly off or modeled differently

And a lot of the time… you catch it way too late.

I used to go through this manually even tried using filters to color architectural and structural elements (so they turn green when aligned), but it’s still very manual.
I also tried patching it with Dynamo scripts, which wasn’t very reliable.

Recently started using a tool cald eazystruct that compares models more intelligently and flags these inconsistencies and it made me realize how much I was missing before.

Curious what others are doing?

Copy Monitor? Color Filters? Custom scripts? Something else?
