Hey everyone,
I’m a developer and a concentrate user, and I wanted to share a web app I’ve been building over the last little while called Puffco Companion (v3.1).
Before getting into what it does, I want to be 100% clear right up front: I have absolutely zero interest in making a profit from this project, and I am not selling your data. I built this because I wanted a better way to track my own sessions, and I figured some of you might find it useful too. It’s a passion project, plain and simple.
Why I built it
I kept finding myself in the same situation: I’d pick up a great gram of live rosin, dial in the perfect heat profile, but a month later I’d completely forget what temperature I ran it at or exactly how it tasted.
I wanted a digital journal tailored specifically to our routines, so I built this app to help keep track of it all. Here is what it actually does:
- Detailed Session Logging: You can log the type of concentrate (rosin, resin, hash, etc.), the temperature you ran it at, and how it made you feel. Instead of just a generic 5-star system, you can tag specific effects (Relaxed, Uplifted, etc.) and jot down notes on flavor and smoothness.
- Your Personal Strain Wiki: As you log sessions, the app aggregates your data. If you smoke the same strain a few times, it averages out your notes to give you a definitive profile of what temps worked best for that specific jar.
- Atomizer Care Tracker: Let's be real, it’s easy to put off cleaning our glass and chambers. I added a simple "Care Tab" that tracks your dabs and gently reminds you when it’s time for an iso soak so we don't fry our expensive atomizers.
- A Little Gamification: Just to make it fun to log things, I added a small progression system. As you log notes and take photos of your setups, you earn XP and unlock little profile picture rings.
Privacy & How It Works
Again, your data is yours. The app is built to work completely offline in "Guest Mode." If you use it this way, everything stays entirely on your device's local browser storage. I never even see it.
If you want to sync your data between your phone and your computer, there is an option to make an account, which saves your entries to a database. But even then, nobody is mining it, scraping it, or selling it.
You can also save the site directly to your iOS or Android home screen, and it functions exactly like a native app (it even has haptic feedback when you log a session).
Feedback Welcome
I'm just one person working on this in my free time, so there might be a few bugs here and there. I’d love for you guys to try it out and let me know what you think.
If you have ideas for new features, tweaks, or just want to share your go-to temp for live rosin right now, let me know in the comments! ✌️☁️
