BE68 - Issue Check
Hi everyone! I hope yall are doing well! I've seen some posts about the unreliability of the BE68 system, figured I'd re-check in and see of everyone is still having issues. I have gone through 2 XE75Pro systems over the years lost because of lightning. Each time Best Buy Total has taken care of me. Last time it happened, July 2025, the BE68 had just came out iirc. I had some rewards, was getting the money back from the XE75Pro system and some spare cash so figured why not.
Its honestly been so hit or miss for me. I've got all three set up, like I did with my XE75Pro system; triangulating the center of our 2500sqft house (tons of interference in the center due to stove, fridge, washer, dryer, etc). This is what seems to give me the best coverage (2 Decos dont seem to work effectively, or didnt at least from my memory, especiallywith rear property coverage).. All wired backhaul with high quality cables, that have been properly terminated.
For starters, none of my TPLink systems have liked our Samsung TV's. the XE75Pro did better than these BE68 do, though. Our wifi cameras don't seem to work well on the BE68 system. Our pellet grill will not connect at all (turned on my ISP router for giggles and it connected right up). Phones and other devices are hit or miss too. I've also found I will set a device to a specific node, because that's the one it should connect to, and it NEVER stays. it always roams to another. My security cams on the front of the house are pinned to the front node, yet always connect to the node across the house even though its so far away it barely reaches (causing cameras to not work well). Everything is updated, and the "network optimizer" thinks its all perfect.
I'm debating just jumping ship to Unifi, at this point. I just installed a system into our church, and while not quite fully deployed, I'm way happier with it, and the level of monitoring, customization, and reliability its provided.
Just curious if everyone is still experiencing issues with the BE68's? I might try taking down one node again, and seeing if that helps? but like I said I remember originally just trying to run 2 with various placemnts and it not working right. and that still doesn't fix the other issues I've had and I think I'm just over it. I want to move into the Protect system too, by Unifi, for cameras, etc, so I think that's just the starter move.
