I hate when my employer used Your in Philippines so you are living like a king

I am a Canadian on residency in Philippines. I severed ties with my guy that I was working for for over 4 years now. When I was in Canada he was paying me minimum wage. And I had free healthcare.

Now after being in Philippines he kept cutting my salary saying live like a king here. He got it down to 3 usd an hour. and was even threatining to cut it more. He kept saying i was living like a king here. and I should declare bankruptcy etc. I mean ......ya im job hunting. Does anyone else get this kind of treatment when you are looking for va work in Philippines?

I was being down to 2-3 usd an hour part time. btw

Green algae in the ocean, can someone help explain?

Hi, I know we have Green algae in the beach in Boracay. Not sure why it happens in this spot here? I know what it is. When does it normally start and end? Why is it now when I was their, last week certain stations had it more than others?

So I joined flexjobs to try them and after 2 hours I came up with this.

Hey all so I am a bit of a remote worker myself. And I just wanted to try out flexjobs. Their are legit posts, a lot of them being remote US jobs, which is fine. Some are world wide too. not that many are posted daily but they still keep jobs up that are over 30 days.

I was about to quit joining them, and they offered me a 2.99 trial kind of thing. So I thought I'd' give them a try.

Most of the jobs that I looked at points to other websites, and I have to re upload my resume to them. The user experience was a bit confusing. in my opinion.

At least I tried it, . would I recommend it? Not really for me.

But they do have legit jobs, and legit companies that are uploading jobs. Just I wish it was easier and not have to always upload my resume every time etc.

Boracay compared to last year

so my wife and I spent 3 days in boracay. one thing i noticed on this trip is how less people are in boracay. this is our 5th time here. normally the airport terminal is absolutely packed for check in lugggage. this time only 3 people ahead of us. the terminal is still fairly busy now. the starbucks one but last time we had to stand.

as for the experience the restaurants were not fully occupied. I would say about 70 percent. you can actually walk down the pathway next to the bars and restaurants.

also a side note about the terminal to enter. its probably 35 percent less people so it is still busy but not quite as busy.

I am from Canada but i live in Philippines as a resident so I had my discount for the fees.

I wonder how people of boracay are doing? it seems like the industry is affected by these gas prices.

we love boracay on our other trips and this one we got it on sale back in June 2025. I would rate this trip a 9 out of 10.

for this week absolutely no clouds and no rain. so we were very happy
