How do Oakville people handle cars that fail safety due to rust? Seems like a really common problem here

My neighbor just found out her car failed safety inspection because of rusted floor pans. Car still drives fine but apparently it can't be certified in Ontario once the structure is compromised.

She's been driving the QEW daily for years and the mechanic said the undercarriage corrosion is what did it.

Is this a common situation around here? What are the actual options when a car fails safety for rust, is scrapping it usually the move, or is there something else people do?

Scrap car removal

Hi everyone my 2008 Hyundai Elantra finally gave up on me and I'm looking to get it scrapped. It's non-running, sitting in my driveway in Port Credit. I've been getting quotes all over the place and honestly have no idea what's a fair price.

I've seen some companies advertise "$300 to $15,000" but that range is so wide it's basically useless. My car is pretty beaten up rusted frame, blown engine, no catalytic converter. What you all have actually been offered in similar situations.
