Hi, I have been helping my elderly uncle fix up his house.
While doing some pressure washing after about twenty minutes the water cut off, I asked him and he said recently when my aunt helped him with laundry and dishes the same happened (he doesn't use much water on his own).
He did say a few years ago his pressure tank failed and was replaced so I thought maybe the well pump was overworked and now failing because of no other symptoms like air in the lines or muddy water etc. and the water would return like normal after a half hour (thought pump overheating protection), although not stress tested again right away.
Called a plumber and he ran the water out but said the pump was still running so suggested the well is running dry.
We then had out an unrelated well company who tested and said the well is only 70 feet deep and producing just a quart per minute, but due to code a whole new well needs to be drilled further away from the house.
I am not doubting these results as it's from two independent sources, just looking for reassurance before following through as it's a big expense.
Thanks.
