I’m 27y male, BMI 28 but quite muscular and physically active, nicotine pouch user, have migraines otherwise medically free
My b/p has been hovering around 130/85 - 140/90 for the past 4-5 years, after measuring at home for an average of 134/86 I decided to finally visit the docs
They ordered some labs to rule out secondary causes and all was normal.
The doctor suggested propranolol 10mg 3x daily to tackle all 3 issues I have (migraines, hypertension and mild anxiety)
I took the first pill today around 3pm, felt slightly lightheaded an hour later but that didn’t last long, afterwards I’ve just been feeling a bit odd like calmer than usual but with a weird anxious feeling in the chest.
I checked my b/p ~6 hours after the first pill and it was 114/74, repeated checks similar, pulse ~70 (usually 85-90)
I’ve never seen this number before, the lowest b/p I’ve had in the past few years was in the high 120’s
I’m just worried I’m hypersensitive to the drug and wondering if I should continue the regimen, I haven’t experienced any of the red flags the doctor explained, just this odd feeling in the chest and the almost 15 drop in systolic bp
TLDR, took propranolol 10mg for first time, bp went from usual ~135/88 to 114/74, and feeling a bit weird in the chest
