This is our 5th lab, and I remember introducing them all to water, but they normally just take to water and self teach. But our 9 month old girl can BARELY keep from drowning.

It’s obvious she hasn’t balanced out and isn’t getting her butt up, so she’s just slapping the water with her front paws. We’re going to try putting a small floaty under her belly to get her to level a little better.

Anyone have any experience on helping a lab that’s struggling to swim like her?

I realize the spot looks terrible to try to teach. We have done swimming pools, and gradual entrances in ponds with no plants. This was just the video I thought showed clearly her struggle with swimming.
