What non-front-shelf book (fantasy or other) do you think I would like?

For the past few years, I have been devouring books and I need some new recommendations. I'll read anything from middle grade to adult, and I prefer fantasy but normal fiction or sci-fi or mystery/suspense is good too. I have issues focussing and can be impatient, so the detail-laden ASOIAF was torture and I resorted to finishing WOT on audiobook. This is also why I tend to gravitate toward middle grade or young adult because the mental effort needed for adult books makes me wary to start a random one. And that is also why I need your recommendations for amazing adult-level books beyond the typical fantasy recommendations because I've read most of those.

Books I love: LOTR (and other Tolkien), Stormlight Archive (and other Sanderson), Harry Potter, Broken Earth trilogy, Hunger Games, Dragonriders of Pern, Lions of Al-Rassan, Wheel of Time, Name of the Wind, Five Kingdoms series by Brandon Mull, Nevermoor series, Greenglass House books, Liars Society series, Scythe series by Neal Shusterman, Wonder, Earthsea

Books that were meh to acceptable: ACOTAR series, Discworld series, Fionavar Tapestry, Jade City (I haven't finished it yet and am having trouble getting into it), Cinder (Lunar Chronicles), The Dark is Rising (again haven't finished it and having trouble getting into it), Fablehaven by Brandon Mull, American Gods

Books I didn't like/finish: ASOIAF (story was good, but the writing was a slog), Powerless (shameless rip-off and bad writing), heist stories

So what do you think? What series/author do you think I need to try out? What Guy Gavriel Kay book should I tackle next? Do you think I would like the Red Rising series? Please and thank you.

We're planning to build a house and, due to decisions out of my control, I'm ending up with an upstairs interior room-size hallway approximately 17x12. Various doors open onto this room and there are no windows. I'm at a loss with what to do with it. It used to be more like an extra wide hallway, and my plan was to put in a few bookcases and have some beanbags or something similar. I thought about still doing that, but I feel like I would need rethink the seating because the space is just too huge. But I'm not thrilled with essentially creating another living room when it probably won't be much used. My second idea was to make it a craft room, but my daughter shot this down. Her reasoning is that because there is no door to keep the cats out, it won't work well when glue or paint is involved. My next idea was to get a projector and make it like a theater, but again it feels redundant (big TV downstairs and kids' video game hangout in the basement). A google search gave me my last idea: a home gym. My daughter laughed at me when I suggested it. So good people of reddit, what should I do with this space?
